Environmental commitment
Sika, as a world leader in the manufacture and supply of materials, recognized the importance of providing durable and sustainable products some years ago, obtaining ISO 9001 accreditation for quality and ISO 14001 for environmental management systems. Since then we have devoted considerable attention and resources to ensuring that our products are as environmentally-friendly as possible and contribute to a sustainable future.
A Member of the Canadian Green Building Council for construction, Sika Canada Inc. actively contributes to the green building process, by supplying zero or low-VOC products, recyclable or recycled materials, and technologies for alternative energy, including solar or wind-power related systems.
As a supplier, we also have played a part in many LEED-Canada® certified construction projects, across the country, and will continue to do so through research and development and the supply of groundbreaking products, all with our planet and its environment in mind.
Sika Canada Inc is also pleased to confirm that our research, development and production functions operate in accordance with relevant federal and provincial regulations. For example the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Concentration Limits for Architectural Coatings Regulations, under the authority of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act 1999, which limits the amount of volatile organic compounds (VOC) contained in these products, is being accommodated through the creation of new and reformulation of existing products and the sourcing of alternative raw materials.
