SilveRboard Exterior Wall Sheathing, SilveRboard XS

Amvic is pleased to introduce a new insulated building product especially designed for exterior wall sheathing application.

After a review of the exterior wall sheathing requirements we have determined that there are 3 major items that builders consider when choosing this product, they are:
 
• An R5 insulation value in a maximum of 1” thick sheet (an R7.5 in1.5” for northern areas),

• That the product is not considered a vapour or air barrier to ensure the proper building science principals, are adhered to for exterior sheathing application, (that the product does not form a double vapor barrier and allows any moisture buildup within the wall to dry out). and

• That the price of the product is competitive with the existing product

After much research and testing Amvic is please to introduce our newest SilveRboard Product for Exterior Wall Sheathing; SilveRboard XS. 

SilveRboard XS has been specifically engineered for exterior wall sheathing application on wood or steel frame construction.  The reflective laminated surfaces of SilveRboard XS are micro perforated in order that the SilveRboard XS insulation materials can “breath” SilveRboard XS will allow an average water vapor permeance of 49 ng/Pa.s.m2 or 0.9 Perms and an air permeance (system air leakage) of 0.047 L/x./m2 at 75 Pa. SilveRboard XS physical characteristics are within the nationally accepted guidelines for air and vapor permeance, making it unnecessary for further application of a house wrap.   SilveRboard XS is a high performing, high quality and economical material for exterior wall sheathing installations.
